Oumar Sagna was admitted to degree-level study at Section Anglais, Faculte des Lettres et Sciences Humaines, Universite Cheikh Anta Diop de Dakar (English Section School of Arts and Human Sciences, University Cheikh Anta Diop of Dakar), Dakar, Senegal, West Africa. He attended a three year program in English Language and British Civilization and after final examination, was awarded the degree Attestation, Licencie es Lettres d'Enseignement, Section Anglais (Licencie in teaching languages-English) on August 29, 1995. This education represents completion of the equivalent of three years of U.S. undergraduate study in Language and Area Studies (English Language and British Culture).

Mr. Sagna completed an additional year of study at Universite Cheikh Anta Diop de Dakar ( University Cheikh Anta Diop of Dakar), Dakar, Senegal, West Africa, and after final examination, was awarded Attestation d'Admission, Certifat de Maitrise d'Anglais (Certificate of Maitrise in English) on August 9, 1996. This education represents completion of the equivalent of one year of U.S. upper division undergraduate study in English Language Studies.

Mr. Sagna then attended Ecole Normale Superieure, Universite Cheikh Anta Diop de Dakar (School of Teacher Training, Dakar-Fann, a School of the University Cheikh Anta Diop of Dakar) and after completing all requirements, was awarded Attestation d'Admission au Certificat d'Aptitude a l'Enseignement dans les Colleges d'Enseignement Moyen, Option Lettres-Anglais (Certificate of Aptitude for Junior Secondary Teachers in the Option of English and French Teacher) on August 21, 1997. This Certificate is a Senegalese teaching qualification.

Mr. Sagna completed further study in Foreign Language Intern Teaching, Conversational English, American studies and Education in America through The Amity Institute, San Diego, CA, from August 1997 to June 1998, and was awarded a Certificate of Studies. This certificate is a professional development credential.

Mr. Sagna's combined education is considered equivalent to the U.S. awarded degree Bachelor of Arts in Language and Area Studies with a major in Teaching English as a Foreign Language.

Mr. sagna took classes on Child Development at V.E. Carter Development, Inc in Milwaukee and was awarded the certificates of Child Care I and Child Care II in 1999.

Mr. Sagna gives lectures in French to teachers of French on how to teach their students about Africa using two literature books: Une si Longue Lettre (So Long a Letter) by Mariama Ba from Senegal, and L'Enfant Noir (The Black Child) By Camara Laye from Guinea.

Mr. Sagna's Montessori students from 1st through 8th grade are corresponding with the students from his native village elementary school in Senegal.

Mr. Sagna implemented and organized an exchange program between his Milwaukee Montessori Junior High students and students from a Junior High School in France in 2004 and 2005 . Those French students from Voreppe, near Grenoble in southern France, corresponded with his students and 20 of them came to visit their American pen pals for 12 days during Halloween, stayed in their families and attended Montessori for a week. In return, Mr. Sagna took 13 of his students to visit their French pen pals during spring break 2005. Below are some pics taken during the trip.

As of this year 2006, Mr. Oumar Sagna has been teaching French for 9 years in America.
